The Changemaker Gallery
Visitors to King’s High’s reception have been fascinated to see nineteen portraits of remarkable women from the past and present looking down on them from the wall. These women were chosen by King’s High girls following the ‘Big Changemaker Conversation’, started by Head Master Dr Burley in January, as inspirational figures who have changed the world for the better. It is hoped that after discussion and debate, the diverse range of women the girls chose to depict will inspire and motivate them – or, simply, they might find encouragement from seeing faces who look like theirs. Our nineteen changemakers were chosen by the girls for the positive contributions they have made to the world; a twentieth space on the wall houses a mirror, so the girls can seem themselves and reflect on the positive changes they can make in the future. You can read more about the Changemaker Gallery in the brochure below.
